Rolf had had enough of Miss Bryant and her insistence on remaining too close to him. He had told her, more than once, he was spoken for, and did not appreciate her behavior. The woman would agree to his boundary, then he would find her right in his bubble again. She also was teaching him nonsense. Compared to what Lily was learning, it was complete gibberish. He is convinced it is Silar's doing to insult him and keep him from being near Lily. He loves Lily, but their time here is temporary. He has duties at home, and Lily is his mate. He would remain by her side, but their conversation about when that would be is not over.

Since they have come to this time, they have been in danger. He can sense it. Silar has such a dark presence about him, that it makes Rolf wonder how Lily cannot see it. Her father is not telling them everything. Every conversation that he has had with the man has left Rolf feeling violent and confused. Rolf is the son of the Alpha in their clan. He is accustomed to getting his way and putting the fear of the Gods in those that would cross him. Here, he felt like nothing. Like he was more a pet than a lover to Lily. This would change once her vow was satisfied.

His current problem was violating Lily’s trust further. He knew he hurt her when he left the previous night. He could feel all the pain and anguish he caused his beautiful mate. He has never been good with words with her. He could give orders, raid villages, and plunder loot, but the moment he gets in front of the one person in the world he would do anything for he turns into a bumbling idiot. He knew that she would be with Mr. Sparrow until dinner, and that gave him plenty time to search her room now that he had ditched that insufferable Bryant woman. What made him hesitate is that he was going to do it without permission.

He could feel the rage welling inside him at being denied his mate. The mate bond is strong, but it will not force a pair together. Whatever is happening to them, is taking all reason from the both of them. When he gets anywhere near her scent, he is thrown into a maddening need to mate with her and to claim her as his own. He had promised himself he would make it special for her. That he would take her to the spring she found and would have her under the full moon. It haunted his dreams every night on that long boat ride to the Isles. Only to have Luna try to destroy it for him. He would have words with his father when they returned. Luna will never hurt his Lily again.

He rolls his shoulders as he stands in front of her room, preparing for a battle. With a quick glance to guarantee he is not seen, he steps into her bedroom and locks the door behind him.
